However by fast I don't mean using a miracle weight loss product that leads nowhere; you can lose weight fast if you adhere to healthy, proven weight loss techniques that will save you time and money.

If your BMI index is high - over 30 - meaning you are obese not just overweight I would recommend that you see a doctor for an appropriate weight loss regimen or a medication or a surgery. However if you need to lose 50-60 pounds you can really do it fast if you follow simple weight loss tips.

Here are seven tips to help you lose weight fast:

First: Set a realistic goal. You can't lose 60 pounds in one month and you can't exercise two hours every single day for months. It is equally important to have a proper mindset and a determination to follow through.

Second: Find a program that is right for you; you don't have to follow popular programs if you don't inclined to. As a matter of fact, a study showed that only a fraction of overweight population succeeds with any one particular weight loss program. We are all different and "one size fits all" approach doesn't work.

When you look for a program make sure it is not a "diet" but a program; a good weight loss program should cover all the important weight loss aspects - setting a goal, developing a right mindset, general approach to diet with some recipes, preferably, exercising details, detoxification and supplements, etc.

Third: Drink more water. This one is really easy and will make a huge difference in your weight if you do it consistently. Water helps to detoxify the body, metabolize fat; it will also fill you up so you will eat less.

Fourth: Stay away from deep fried foods. You don't need to consume so much fat (especially unhealthy fat) with one meal. Consume limited quantities of healthy fats such as olive oil, extra virgin coconut oil and stay away from trans fats, hydrogenated and partially hydrogenated fats. Make a habit to read food labels.

Fifth: Consume whole products - whole grains, whole rice, as well as vegetables and fruits. They contain fiber that will help the elimination process as well as fill you up.

Sixth: Listen to your body. As I already mentioned we all react in different ways to the same thing; make some changes to your weight loss program, if necessary, to take into account your particular needs.

Seventh: Sticking to a weight loss program is not about perfection. You have to realize that you will have your ups and downs - we all do. The important thing is not to feel guilty when you happen to take a wrong course for a day and continue with the program.
