Pills are not solutions for weight loss. Popping a pill to reduce weight drastically my do more harm than good. Just try a few of these excellent tips for losing weight and tone up your body. It is not the weight loss alone that counts, you have to maintain it in the long run.

First and foremost motivate yourself to lose weight. This motivation has to come from within. Don't expect miracles. If weight loss was a magician's trick then nobody would exercise. Motivation is the only factor to pump you up. Focus properly. You can't achieve to lose fat overnight. It is seen that people who focus to lose 5 per cent of their weight gain success the most in the long run.

Losing just those first few pounds brings instant results like decreased blood pressure, lowered blood cholesterol etc. Start by losing one pound at a time. It is observed that crash diets rarely work. It will affect your health adversely. Experts feel that dropping half a kilo a week by planning an effective diet and an exercise program will help in the long run.

Check your weight once a week. Evidence shows that people who maintain a healthy weight loss weigh themselves on the scales once a week. Rope in family members or find a buddy who will cheer you throughout your effort to lose weight. They will help you feel better. A companion for your morning walk will boost your morale. Don't lose hope. If you find out that the weight you lose is not in synchronization with your plan it does not mean that you should give up. Do what is feasible. It might be a slow start but remember that something is better than nothing.

Enjoy yourself. Take up some interesting form of exercise that will be fun. Enjoy your workouts. If you don't then probably you may not stick to them. Skipping, dancing, playing cricket or any other hobby that you enjoy can be chosen. Remember that if you want your weight loss to last, then you have to exercise for the rest of your life. Don't plunge into full-throttle workouts.

Try to break up your fitness schedule. Take the stairs instead of the lift or try parking your car in the remotest corner of the parking lot, so that you can walk. Try dusting the furniture or washing the car by yourself. Such small activities will help you to lose weight. The quickest ways to lose weight are plenty. But determination is required.
