What to Eat to Lose Weight Fast

What to eat to lose weight-there are many opinions on the topic. How else do you explain the hundreds of weight loss diets out there today?

Some, for example, recommend you eat less of the same food you already do; while this might work to help you lose weight, it won't help you become healthier. Others talk about calorie counting, others talk about practically not eating entirely, but which is really the best?

The first litmus test I would suggest you perform on any diet is whether or not you can see yourself still eating that way months down the road. If it's just a short one or two week thing, and you can't imagine sticking with that diet long term, forget about it.

Most people view a diet as just a quick way of losing weight so that they can go back to their old eating habits, but the facts remains that your old eating habits aren't working. If there were, you wouldn't be overweight, in the first place, now would you?

Therefore, a diet should not be a short term thing; It must be a way of life. That might not be what you want to hear but it's the only way to lose weight and keep it off. Therefore, when asking yourself what to eta to lose weight fast, make sure the diet is something you can keep doing.

Another thing to keep in mind is that, while it's everybody's goal to stick to their diet 100% of the time, that probably is not going to happen, and you will cave in to your junk food cravings from time to time. The key is to limit those times. If you don't consume other foods every now and then, you likely will all the time.

To go along with that, another key is to find a diet that doesn't restrict you too much. Some, quite simply are not sustainable long term because they go overboard on one food group and leave out all the others.

One instance of this is what is known as the high protein diet, which gives you a ton of protein, but at the expense of other things. Another would be the cabbage soup diet. Most people who embark on a really specific diet and eliminate a lot of food groups aren't able to sustain it over the long haul.

In these instances, the diet actually has a negative effect, because not only will they gain all their former weight back when they return to their old eating habits, but likely some more to boot, after the binge. Most people just jump from diet to diet with this method, and give up and end up reverting back to their old eating habit.

As far as what to eat to lose weight fast, try eating more natural foods like fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds, and avoid processed foods as much as possible.
